Ellena Li

Ellena is a Grade 11 student from Appleby College who is extremely passionate about music and songwriting. She writes her songs about issues that women face in the music industry, as her latest single “This Body” reminds women to embrace themselves. She hopes to inspire, connect, and build a community around her works of charity and the encouraging messages she has embedded in the lyrics of her music.

 

“During my global education experience in Indonesia, I was struck by the beautiful culture and the warmth of the people. I visited the PKP Community Center (a women’s shelter in Bali) and met Ibu Sari. Her story about growing up in a patriarchal society and resilience to rebuild a path for women in her community inspired me to do the same. My twin sister and I began a new purpose, and utilized our artistic abilities to make a difference for women around the world.”

 

Ellena’s music was featured in multiple music blogs and magazines. Additionally, both siblings were selected to be part of Breaking Sound Radio’s 2025 ON-AIR Spotlight, streamed to an audience of over 300,000 listeners. They hope to spread their message as widely as possible, and break the barriers that women face on a daily basis.
