Selene Li is a Grade 11 student and the Co-founder of Herizon, a youth-led organization dedicated to gender equality and building stronger communities through the arts, mentorship, and education. A dynamic student leader, Selene currently serves as the Club Leader of her school’s Entrepreneurial and Business Club, where she organizes workshops, leads pitch competitions, and inspires peers to develop creative solutions for real-world challenges.

Selene’s deep love for music has become a powerful tool for advocacy. She began songwriting at the age of nine, using music as a way to tell stories, raise awareness, and foster connection. Her performances including original songs featured at benefit concerts and cultural events aim to uplift and inspire girls to explore their own creative paths. Selene’s first original song, Lost at Sea, written during the pandemic, was a tribute to frontline workers, capturing the importance of connection and resilience. These early works laid the foundation for a growing body of original music, each track rooted in personal meaning and a desire to inspire.

Selene later released her first published single, Bittersweet, an exploration of vulnerability, growth, and memory. Available on major streaming platforms, the song reflects her journey through friendships and girlhood.

Selene hopes that through her nonprofit, music, and advocacy, she can help build a world where young women feel confident pursuing the arts, leading movements, and making bold choices about their futures. Her goal is not only to raise awareness, but to raise voices.
